Kassadi Thompson won the girls individual title at the GCC Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Strongsville, Ohio. Thompson completed the race in 18:30.20. Cleveland Heights High School finished sixth in the girls competition and seventh in the boys competition overall.

The junior delivered the top individual result for Cleveland Heights at the conference championship. Thompson’s victory capped a regular season marked by consistent finishes near the front of the field, with results ranging from first through sixth.

Thompson’s regular-season record included four first-place finishes, one second-place finish, two third-place finishes and a sixth-place finish. That collection gave Thompson seven top-three results across eight finishes, with victories accounting for half of those performances. For Thompson, the championship added a conference title to an already incredible season.

The cross country team next competes at the Regional meet on Saturday, October 31st at Boardman High School.
