CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - Cleveland Heights High School junior Harry Tugeau shot a 78 and finished eighth overall in the OHSAA Sectional Golf Tournament on Monday, September 28, at Quail Hollow Country Club. Tugeau was the lone representative from the Heights golf team.

The decisive moment came on the 18th hole, where Tugeau needed a par or better to avoid a playoff for the last individual qualifying spot. That left a clear requirement for the closing hole: A par would secure advancement without extra holes, while a score above par would leave the qualifying berth to a playoff.

Tugeau did better than the required par, making birdie to settle the qualifying position outright. The closing score removed any need for a playoff and completed a round of 78 that earned a place among the sectional tournament’s top eight finishers.

The result sends Tugeau to the OHSAA District Golf Tournament at Pine Hills next week.
