Junior Kassadi Thompson led Cleveland Heights High School's performance by winning the girls varsity race at the inaugural McNulty Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Forest Hill Park. Thompson placed first in a large meet that brought more than 40 schools and 800 runners to Cleveland Heights.

The victory continued an impressive opening stretch to Thompson's season. It was her second overall first-place finish and extended her streak of top-six performances to four consecutive races, giving the Tigers a winner in one of the meet's featured varsity events.

The first McNulty Invitational also gave Cleveland Heights an opportunity to race on its home course while hosting one of the area's larger meets. Thompson's first-place finish provided the day's top result for the Tigers.
